COVID-19 Prevention

As of THE end of APRIL 2021, approximately 158 millIon of the WORLD population gets the COVD-19, resulting in approximately 3.3 million deaths according to CDC.

What Is It?

COVID-19 is caused by a coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.

Symptoms and Treatment

Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19: Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea.

Treatments used for COVID-19 should be prescribed by your healthcare provider. People have been seriously harmed and even died after taking products not approved for COVID-19, even products approved or prescribed for other uses. Your healthcare provider will decide on what approach to take for your treatment.

A simple cough or sneeze can spread the COVID-19 from person to person in the air. It can also spread when a person touches something with the COVID-19 virus on it, like a door handle or a desk, and then touches his or her mouth or nose. Studies have shown that COVID-19 viruses can survive on surfaces days. A person can be infected with the COVID-19 and not realize it for a few days. In fact, someone can be contagious even before symptoms are evident.

It is important to follow CDC’s guidance on preventing COVID-19.

  • Get a COVID-19 vaccine when it’s available to you. Monitor your health daily.

  • Wear a mask to protect yourself and others and stop the spread of COVID-19; Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from others who don’t live with you. Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces. The more people you are in contact with, the more likely you are to be exposed to COVID-19; Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Clean your hands often, either with soap and water for 20 seconds or Hand Sanitizer
